New and Improved Screen
All models of the Instinct 2 have been given a new screen with a higher resolution than previously. The new screen display is therefore both clearer and brighter in all settings, even in sharp sunlight.
VO2 Max Calculator
The Garmin Instinct 2 features Garmin’s well-known VO2 Max Calculator, so you calculate how good form you’re in.
More Activities
The number of activity profiles on the Garmin Instinct 2 has also been improved, now featuring many more than previously. The watch now features, for example, indoor climbing, MTB, winter sports, golf, virtual running, yoga, pilates and HIIT – including EMOM (every minute on the minute) and AMRAP (as many rounds as possible).
Sleep Score
The Garmin Instinct 2 also gives you insight into your sleep. You can check how much of the time you have spent in the various sleep stages, as well as rating your night’s sleep from 0-100. In addition, the watch will give you tips on how to improve your sleep rating.
Upgraded Design including QuickFit Watch Straps
The watch has been given a slightly rounder and slimmer design. Despite being slimmer, it still retains its masculine and robust look. Instinct also comes in a regular size and a small (S) size. Moreover, you can quickly and easily change the watch strap, since Garmin’s QuickFit system has been incorporated into the Instinct watches.
Garmin Pay
The Garmin Instinct 2 features Garmin Pay, so you can leave your wallet at home and pay with your watch when standing at the checkout. By registering your card on the watch, you are set up to pay – there is no need for your phone to be nearby. And don’t worry, you still have to use a pincode, so if your watch gets into the wrong hands, they can’t use it to pay with.
ConnectIQ
With Garmin’s Connect IQ, you can customize your watch to look exactly the way you want it to. You can download dial styles, widgets, change data fields and download apps directly onto your watch. With thousands of different things you can download, there is ample opportunity to personalize your own unique watch.
Incident and Fall Detection
If you find yourself involved in an accident, when you’ve fallen whilst running, hiking or cycling, your watch can send a message via your mobile phone to selected contacts showing your GPS coordinates and letting them know you are in need of help.
Intensity Minutes 2.0
The vast majority of us carry out activities during our daily lives that we don’t track. Perhaps you walk down to the shops, cycle to work, vacuum the house, or maybe you’re wondering how many stairs you actually walk up every day. With Intensity Minutes 2.0 you get even more information about all the activities you don’t usually track.
Hydration, Menstrual Cycle and Pregnancy Tracker
With the Garmin Instinct 2, you can log your daily water intake, as well as set reminders that remind you to drink water, so you’re sure to keep hydrated. In addition, you can also keep an eye on your menstrual cycle and, if relevant, your pregnancy, so you can track the progress, log symptoms etc.
Health Monitoring Activity
With this new feature on the Garmin Instinct 2.0, you can quickly (takes two minutes) get an overview of important health data. Heart rate, heart rate variability, oxygen saturation in the blood, your respiratory data and your stress level – everything can be quickly exported as a PDF, so you can share it with your doctor, for example.
Waterproof Heart Rate Monitor
In the Garmin Instinct 2, the heart rate monitor can also be used when you’re underwater, so you can check your heart rate if you’re out swimming, surfing or doing another water activity.
Other Features of Instinct 2
The Garmin Instinct 2 also acts as an activity tracker. It has a built-in accelerometer that measures how many steps you walk, how far you walk and how many stairs you walk up. In addition, the Instinct 2 functions as a smartwatch, which uses bluetooth to give you notifications about incoming calls, text messages or other messages from your phone. Of course, the watch also has a stopwatch, timer and alarm clock. Moreover, information about sunrise and sunset are preprogrammed, as well as automatic summer and winter time settings. In addition, if you enter a new time zone, the clock will automatically switch to the current time zone with the help of the built-in GPS technology.
